Short description

The University of Security Management in Košice (VŠBM) organizes a full-time and external study in the field of study “Safety and Security Sciences” in the study programme “Management of Security Systems” for all level of the university education (Bc., Ing. and PhD.) The study programme Management of Security Systems is divided into following profiling areas: Security of Financial Operations and Corruption, Cyber Security, Traffic Safety and Environmental Safety.

Scientific research/artistic projects

The most important scientific and research topics of the University of Security Management in Košice (VŠBM) include:

research on the resocialization of convicts after serving their sentences;

safety of rescue service members while performing their profession;

security aspects of the integration of minorities into society;

safety aspects of transport;

security of soft targets and training of security managers;

economic security.

VŠBM considers as the most important at present to be the project supported by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic titled “School of Digital Security”.

International relations

The University of Security Management in Košice (VŠBM) cooperates with more than 50 academic, research and other state or private institutions at home and abroad in the field of education, science, research and other professional activities. Many cooperations have developed on the basis of solving joint scientific and research projects, as well as on a pedagogical basis. VŠBM has concluded framework cooperation agreements with foreign academic institutions with it shares the common denominator of security.
