Short description

The Pan-European University (PEU) is a private institution of higher education established in 2004 in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. PEU offers programmes at all three levels of higher education at its 5 faculties. The European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) is fully applied to all courses offered. International co-operation with partner universities abroad is one of the main goals of PEU which follows international trends in study programmes by emphasizing its international orientation.

Scientific research/artistic projects

The Pan-European University (PEU) has the right to award the highest scientific and pedagogical titles of associate professor and professor in the fields of science and research: Criminal Law, International Law, Civil Law and in the field of Media and Communication Studies. In addition, in these fields, together with the fields of Psychology and Economics and Entrepreneurship, the university prepares future scientists and researchers in the form of doctoral studies. PEU has fulfilled its long-term primary goal, i.e. to develop science, basic and applied research, development and artistic activity, and thus strengthen its position in the field of science and research. PEU supports and subsequently carries out only top-quality research at the domestic and international level in the fields of Law, Psychology, Economics and Entrepreneurship and Media and Communication studies through domestic grant agencies, project schemes of the decision-making sphere and scientific agencies abroad.

International relations

The Pan-European University (PEU) currently involves in about 60 inter-institutional cooperations with partners within the EU and approx. 40 more beyond Europe. The cooperations are linked to the participation in ERASMUS+, purely bilateral cooperation actions and involvement in multilateral frameworks. Out of these,

the Compostela Group of Universities (CGU), the Euro-Mediterranean University Network (UMUNI) and the ELPIS network are the most important for the international activity of PEU. Traditionally, the main cooperation regions of PEU beyond Europe constitute East and Southeast Asia, Latin America and Central Asia.
