Tomáš Lengyelfalusy, Vice-president of the Slovak Rectors' Conference, took part in the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Polish Rectors' Conference - KRASP.

All Slovak universities and colleges have a bilateral agreement or cooperation within the Erasmus program with at least one Polish institution. Mutual contacts are long-term, bilateral and multilateral, at the institutional and governmental level. However, we would like to intensify cooperation with Polish partners even more. The Polish higher education sector has an important position in its home country, but also in Central Europe and the European Union. The influence of Polish universities is undeniable not only in the size of the sector, but also in quality.

SRC Vice-president Tomáš Lengyelfalusy says: "From a broader perspective, we feel that we need to work together and support each other to protect the academic community. We feel that our common goal is to protect traditional academic values, including professional ethics, responsibility, and the principle of institutional autonomy."
The future of our higher education sectors is also changing dramatically with regard to the demands placed on universities by governments, the business/private sector, students and their parents, as well as the European Union and other actors. It is therefore invaluable to have close cooperation with European and especially neighboring higher education sectors. In this spirit, we perceive it as important to further intensify cooperation with Polish partners. This offer was communicated to KRASP representatives and met with their positive response.
The celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the Polish Rectors' Conference took place in the shadow of the Russian military attack on Ukraine, the consequences of which are felt on the front line by Poland, as well as by Polish universities. It is therefore in our common interest to seek common solutions to open problems and challenges.
